Recall Circuit: I Sat and Thought of You is a meditative video piece that explores the way fleeting sensory encounters—sunlight on water, ambient sound—can unlock buried memories. Seated at the edge of a pier, the artist observes the shimmering movement of light across a lake’s surface, which becomes both a literal and symbolic stimulus for introspective reflection.

The film presents these light patterns in close-up, allowing their hypnotic motion to suggest neural activity—electrical signals flickering across memory’s circuitry. Paired with a persistent audio tone reminiscent of electronic interference or a distant hum, the work bridges the perceptual and psychological. What begins as observation becomes immersion, where the external landscape triggers the internal architecture of recollection.

With minimal imagery and restrained pacing, the piece becomes a kind of visual poem—one in which place, memory, and thought loop back on each other. It reflects on how simple environmental details can momentarily reawaken emotional connections, even in the absence of visible narrative or subject.
